We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new feature on the ERAI website designed to make understanding and obeying US import / export law a much easier process.

For several years ERAI has relied on the expertise of INTRAL Corporation to assist Members with import / export issues and regulations. INTRAL Corporation is a pioneer in independent logistics management offering an array of supply chain solutions to companies involved in international trade.

The industry has changed dramatically in the last few years and now, more than ever, Members need to make sure their business is compliant with US import / export law. While this may not sound difficult, sorting through the never ending maze of bureaucracy in government websites and regulations can become an overwhelming challenge.   ERAI has teamed up with INTRAL to introduce several tools to help make being import / export compliant a much simpler process.

Denied Party Screening Search (DPSS)

The government maintains lists of parties to whom exporting is prohibited.  There are a number of resources both national and international that should be screened before considering an export. The INTRAL DPSS system gives you simple access to a one-source system to search 20+ government-related sources all at once.

Export Compliance Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

Being compliant with US export law is challenging unless you know and understand your legal requirements. The INTRAL SOP outlines the procedures you must follow to be compliant with U.S. Law. The export procedures are clearly written, easily understood, and form the basis of your export compliant process.

Export Compliance Classification and License Determination

All exports are subject to government control and must be classified. Typically, ERAI Members’ exports will be classified under EAR’s Commerce Control List (CCL) with an Export Classification Number (ECCN). In some cases, ERAI Members might find they have an export classified as military under the Department of States U.S. Munitions list. Failure to comply with these regulations can lead to very serious consequences. 

Import / Export Compliance Consulting

Although utilizing the INTRAL SOP will help guide you through most export regulation requirements, occasionally you may run into an unusually complex situation that requires further assistance.
